Grey Blending

Grey Blending is for the client who wants to embrace the grey naturally appearing through their hair while maintaining the beautiful pattern that already exists.

This isn’t about turning you grey. And it isn’t about covering your grey. It’s about working with what your hair is naturally doing.

We look carefully at where your grey lives — perhaps around your hairline and temples, through your parting, scattered throughout your hair or concentrated in particular areas.

We then use personalised colour placement to blend the surrounding hair into that natural pattern, creating a softer connection between your grey and your remaining pigmented hair.

Rather than changing your natural grey pattern, we allow it to become part of the finished colour.

Your stylist will assess your percentage and placement of grey, your existing colour, your previous colour history and the condition of your hair.
From there, we create a personalised colour plan designed to soften the contrast between your natural grey and the surrounding hair.
For the right starting point, Grey Blending can sometimes be achieved beautifully in one sitting.
If there is a significant amount of artificial colour already present, we may recommend a more gradual approach.

Grey Transitioning

Embracing grey doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Grey Transitioning is the beautiful middle ground.

This is for the client who is beginning to embrace their natural grey but isn’t necessarily ready to look completely grey.

You might be thinking “I’m ready to stop fighting my regrowth, but I’m not ready to be completely grey.” We understand.

Instead of continually covering every grey hair with opaque colour, we begin softening your colour and allowing some of your natural grey to gently come through.

You can still feel brunette.
You can still feel blonde.
You can still have warmth, depth and dimension.
You can still feel like you.

We’re simply changing how much of your natural grey we allow to become part of your finished colour.

Over time, we can reduce the amount of traditional coverage and introduce techniques that allow your natural grey to gradually become part of the overall look.
Rather than having an obvious regrowth line appearing every few weeks, the contrast between your natural hair and coloured hair begins to soften.
And importantly, you control the pace.
For some clients, the transition happens relatively quickly. For others, it may happen gently over a number of appointments.

Grey Correction Transformation

The journey back to natural.

This is the big one.

A Grey Correction Transformation is for someone who may have years of artificial colour through their hair and is ready to make a significant move towards their natural grey.

This is not simply adding a few highlights.

It is a full colour correction.

And it requires time.

Before we begin, we need to understand your complete starting point.
We look at your previous colour history, how much artificial pigment is present, your natural grey pattern, the strength and condition of your hair and what you ultimately want your hair to look like.
From there, we create the journey.
Your transformation appointment may require us to block out a full day at D’OR.
We may need to carefully lift previous artificial colour, remove unwanted warmth, rebuild light and dark dimension and recreate elements of your natural grey pattern through your lengths and ends.
The aim is to begin connecting the hair you have previously coloured with the natural hair now growing through.
Maybe.
But sometimes, we won’t.
And that is one of the most important things to understand before beginning.
Even with a full-day Grey Correction Transformation, your hair may not reach the final result in the first appointment.
There may be old colour, darker pigment, warmth or previous chemical work that needs to be carefully removed over time.
We will only take your hair as far as we safely can.
Because no colour result is worth compromising the health of your hair.
Sometimes the most beautiful result comes from patience.
Your first appointment may create a major change.
Your second may refine the tone and dimension.
Your next may take you even closer to your natural destination.
Every stage is part of the process.
The goal isn’t simply to make your hair silver.

Grey Enhancing

What if you actually want MORE grey?

This is where we turn the traditional grey-colour conversation completely on its head. Grey Enhancing is for the client who may naturally have darker hair with beautiful areas of grey or silver coming through — but wants to amplify it rather than disguise it.

Perhaps you love the silver around your temples but wish you had more of it throughout your hair.

Or perhaps your natural grey is scattered unevenly and you’d love the overall result to appear brighter, more silver and more intentional.

That’s where Grey Enhancing comes in.

Unlike Grey Blending, where we are carefully working with your existing natural pattern, Grey Enhancing allows us to go beyond that pattern.
We can strategically introduce lighter and cooler pieces into areas where you naturally have less grey, helping create greater balance and the appearance of more silver throughout the hair.
We are essentially taking what nature has started and amplifying it.
Depending on your starting colour, colour history and the condition of your hair, this may involve lightening and toning and may require more than one appointment.
Again, hair health will always guide how far we go in each sitting.
To embrace your grey — and then turn it up.
